Medical & Health Careers

Career options in medicine are diverse: clinical practice, community health, medical administration, health policy, teaching, research, and more. While the majority of Harvard students and alumni pursuing careers in the health field focus on human medicine (allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine), a number of others will instead pursue fields such as public and global health, dental medicine, veterinary medicine, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, occupational therapy, or physical therapy.

Premedical and health careers events include workshops on the medical school application process, medical school visits, graduate school visits, Pre-Health 101 (the Gaining Traction in Pre-Health series for freshmen and sophomores), alumni panels, and more. Consult the premed/pre-health calendar (below) for the current schedules. Due to specific funding regulations arranged through Harvard College, OCS cannot offer HES candidates / alumni premedical advising.
