Thursday, September 17, 2020, 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Join us for a conversation with alumna Nancy Dammann ('97), who helps run VASI - a non-profit founded by nine rural communities in the Peruvian Amazon to address the threats of biodiversity loss, climate change, and extreme poverty. VASI works to conserve vulnerable ecosystems and landscapes while contributing to a higher quality of life for those in the region. Our world and the Amazon are at a critical point, biodiversity loss and climate change are recognized as threatening our very society, and the current pandemic both highlights these issues and puts the vulnerable communities in the Amazon at extreme risk. Learn about Nancy's work and how you might engage with community based international organizations, conservation, and sustainable food ways—bolstering local food projects in ways that help meet long term conservation goals.
