In this session, Dr. Jason Heustis (Director of Student Development and Training Evaluation and Lecturer on Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School) will faciliate an overview of:
- the administrative structure of colleges, universities and multi-institututional school systems in the U.S.
- the different professional roles available in educational institutions, and the jobs performed by faculty and staff in a variety of roles
- how to find available positions for a diverse array of jobs in higher education and how to read to read job postings to dissect the skills necessary to meet the expectations of those jobs
- how to build skills during graduate school and post-doc to make you more competitive for those positions
