Considering a career in product design? Thought about starting your own company? Come hear from alumna Mariam Braimah as she takes us through her career journey as a woman of color in tech, and her experience as the founder of the Kimoyo Fellowship.
Mariam is currently building Kimoyo Insights, a user testing tool helping companies get feedback from real people across the African diaspora. Mariam has spent five years at Netflix as a lead product designer on the TV & Growth teams. She’s developed features like Top 10, to product offerings that helped shape and drive customer acquisition in key international markets.
In 2018, Mariam founded The Kimoyo Fellowship, a formal design program training the next generation of Africa's leading product designers. To date, 100% of fellows have successfully transitioned into full-time design roles. Previously, she headed a cross functional research and design team at public data tech startup, Inflection, and studied History of Art & Architecture at Harvard University.
