Yale’s Office of Career Strategy invites Harvard PhD students in the Humanities and Social Sciences to an exciting professional development webinar with Edward J. Balleisen. During this session, we will consider what it means to be a humanist or social scientist in the 21st century and begin to think about holistic approaches to doctoral training. Professor Balleisen will discuss the advantages of versatile skillsets, expanded toolkits, and the adoption of collaborative approaches to research. Attendees will, likewise, learn about strategies that can be mobilized so to make significant professional contributions within and beyond the academy. Professor Edward J. Balleisen is a Professor of History and Public Policy at Duke University. He currently serves as Vice Provost of Interdisciplinary Studies and is responsible for catalyzing interdisciplinary research, teaching, and civic engagement across Duke’s 10 schools.
