Assistant Director, Marketing, Consumer Products, Hospitality, Start-ups, Venture Capital, and Consulting
Dan advises undergraduates interested in business fields including marketing, venture capital, consumer products, and startups, and has a particular focus on first year students. He graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Social Studies and he completed the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program (UTEP) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As an undergrad, Dan founded the Harvard College First-Generation Student Union, now known as Harvard Primus. This student movement inspired the creation of many resources on campus for first-generation, low-income (FGLI) students, including the Harvard First-Generation Program. After graduating, Dan explored a variety of sectors and experiences. He spent a year working in New York City for the Oliver Scholars Program, an access organization for students of color. He also served as an Associate in EY-Parthenon’s K-12 Education Practice in Boston, where he advised national foundations and large urban school districts. Most recently, Dan worked in LA as Co-founder and Chief Operating Office for We Are Onyx, a venture-backed beauty subscription service and retail platform for black women. In addition to his role at OCS, he currently serves as President of the First-Generation Harvard Alumni shared interest group, which manages an alumni mentor program serving about 100 FGLI first-year students each year. Dan is passionate about helping students realize and achieve their full potential.
