Hi, I'm Smit and I'm a senior in Currier House originally from Troy, Michigan. I'm concentrating in Social Anthropology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. I spent the summer working on my honors thesis, which explores physician burnout in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. My academic interests lie in understanding how health systems impact physicians' experiences of caregiving as well as how disease is shaped by global political and economic forces. I've spent time in Costa Rica and Brazil exploring these interests. Outside of the classroom, I love to play soccer, go on road trips, and do landscape photography. I'm still unsure what lies ahead for me after graduation, but I've learned to embrace this uncertainty and be content in the moment, as long as I'm doing something I'm interested in. If you are curious about being pre-health with a non-STEM concentration, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm also happy to answer any questions about pre-health in general!
