for student travel to support original works of visual art

Are you a visual artist?
Do you have an original creative project that you could further by traveling outside of the United States this summer?
Then consider applying for the “Sydney Williams, Jr. Travelling Fellowship.” This fund supports one or two students who make original works of visual art. Projects can include visiting museums and monuments and can be any type of experience or research project provided that it does not involve taking formal classes and is closely related to an ongoing or projected creative project. The faculty committee will be selecting awardees with an impressive portfolio of visual work.
Eligibility: Students must be current sophomore or juniors. Students must be on campus this spring and returning to campus in the fall.
Due Date: Thursday, February 6, 2020, 5pm.
Application Materials: Apply through CARAT (application currently unavailable). You must submit a description of your proposed creative visual arts project (400 words or less), your resume, a link to samples of your creative work, and a screenshot proving you are currently enrolled in direct deposit. Instructions for how to enroll in direct deposit can be found here.
Details: The project may vary in length from 3-10 weeks. Funding will be based on location and length of the project.
